Should You Play WoW Now Or Wait for Shadowlands?

There are only a few weeks left until Shadowlands rolls out and many of us were waiting for a long time for this to happen. As we all know, after October’s delay, many of us were left to wonder when they would finally release the game. What’s worse, we didn’t know what to do while we waited and how long it would take until our Shadowland-journey begins. However, now when we know the official new release date, let’s see should you play WoW now or wait for Shadowlands to air.
Why play WoW Now?
There are many reasons why one can ask a question from our title. Precisely, you might not have been playing WoW for some time and now you’re warmed up by the fuss and gameplay from Shadowlands. Or even more, you are gauging what to do – maybe you haven’t maximized your character and you wonder should you level it now.
Well, even though Shadowlands will squish everything – character’s levels and boosts, it is still smart to play current WoW. To answer the upcoming “Why” – simply because you should use your downtime until launch, to level your characters and alts as much as possible.
Also, if you haven’t already unlocked Allied Races in BfA, do it now – because we officially won’t get any new classes with Shadowlands. In that light, it is smart to get your characters ready (yes, one again!) and unlock as much content as you can be unlocked in current and legacy expansions.
In comparison, if a long and cumbersome leveling process was the thing that kept you from maxing your characters. Or, you might be bored to the core – all those repetitive zones, inability to enjoy the storyline in order to level fast and switching continents.
So, if you fall under this category – then it is definitely smart to relax and just install the pre-patch and wait for Shadowlands. Moreover, give yourself a break and enter the eight expansion with a calm mind and satisfaction.
Particularly, knowing that you’ll have the time to fully immerse yourself in the game and storyline will give you just that. Additionally, leveling won’t be that long at all, and hitting a cap will work like a charm – being both effective and more meaningful.
So, what to do?
To wrap things up, Shadowlands will most likely be better – expect to see a lot of things fixed, leveling more rewarding, more cosmetics options. Also, Covenants and some really cool new features will be there and the biggest change – drastically improved leveling speed (on paper). With this said, for returning and brand-new WoW players, Shadowlands will probably be a paradise – and we advise them to wait for Shadowlands.
However, for those who never stopped playing WoW, the hardcore veterans – you guys probably know what is better. We suppose that you’ll do your best to use the time now to enjoy “good-old” leveling the long way and to drain all there is from the current game.
Anyhow, it is up to you, but we definitely push you and advise – Definitely play WoW now and enjoy everything there currently is.
