Temporalis: From Grind to Godhood

Alright, Wanderers! Dina here, and today we’re tackling the legendary Temporalis Silk Robe – the holy grail for any PoE 2 build that wants to go absolutely bonkers with spell spam. This thing? It’s like Original Sin on steroids. Temporalis is cooler than Original Sin in PoE 2 because while Original Sin enables full elemental damage conversion, Temporalis outright removes cooldowns, letting you infinitely spam powerful skills for unmatched burst damage and mobility. (I covered all the details on damage conversion in my previous guide, so check it out for the full breakdown) Alas, as with all things truly epic, getting your hands on it is a nightmare. Strap in, because this is gonna be a wild ride.

What’s the Deal with Temporalis in Poe 2?

Let’s cut to the chase: Temporalis is busted. It’s a unique body armour that lets you dramatically reduce, or even completely remove, skill cooldowns. Imagine Blink turning you into a teleporting god, or Frost Wall becoming a boss-melting machine gun. Yeah, it’s that good.

The Brutal Truth: How to Get Temporalis

Here’s the kicker: Zarokh doesn’t just drop Temporalis after a regular fight. Oh no, this is PoE 2, where they love to make you suffer. You need to activate The Last Flame Unique Relic during the fight.

Modifiers Of Madness: The Path To Temporalis In This Game

Step 1: Farm The Last Flame Relic (Prepare to Grind)

If you want to speed up your grind for The Last Flame Relic, here’s what helps:

RequirementDescription
The Last Flame RelicA super rare drop from the final boss Zarokh, the Eternal, complete standard Trial of the Sekhemas run. Sets maximum honor to 1.
Area Level 75+ Djinn BaryasRequired for farming The Last Flame. Aligns with the 4th Ascendancy requirement.
Relic Drop BoostersStack relics that increase Unique Relic drops and Quantity of Relics Dropped By Monsters.
Enchanted Urn (Minor Boon)Grants +30% effect on non-Unique Relics, further boosting your chances.

Remember, this grind is real. The Last Flame is rare, and will require a significant amount of time and effort to obtain.

Step 2: Activate the ‘No-Hit’ Challenge (Welcome to Hell)

Once you’ve got The Last Flame, place it in the Relic Altar at the start of the Trial. Then, add a Djinn Baryas (area level 80+). This triggers the challenge, and here’s where things get… interesting.

Maximum Resolve = 1: One hit, and it’s game over. Trial failed, relic deleted, you’re kicked out.

Step 3: Survive All Four Floors (Don’t Get Hit. Seriously.)

You have to clear all four floors of the Trial without taking any damage. One tiny mistake, and you’re back to farming The Last Flame.

Step 4: Defeat Zarokh Without Getting Hit (The Final Boss… Of Pain)

If you somehow manage to survive the Trial’s gauntlet of death, you then have to defeat Zarokh, an extremely difficult encounter, without taking a single hit. Yes, you read that right.

Best Builds for This Insanity (Because You’ll Need Them)

Since taking damage is a big no-no for this Trial, most players opt for these builds:

  • Chayula Monk: Uses Darkness as a defense mechanism, making you nearly untouchable.
  • Sorceress Spark Stormweaver: High DPS at range, turning fights into speedruns before enemies can touch you.

Both require serious skill and optimized gear.

One Of Many Possible Powerful Builds With Temporalis in PoE 2

This is a Temporalis build, a simple setup that revolves around just one item: the Temporalis Silk Robe. The key feature of this robe is its reduced skill recharge time, which is crucial for making Blink function properly. Normally, Blink has a 3.6-second CD, so to make it infinite, you need at least -3.6 seconds of CD reduction.

However, since Blink also has a 0.7-second cast time, the optimal cooldown is -3.53 seconds. Any less than that, and the build stops working. If the CD reduction goes too far beyond this, it won’t chain Blinks properly, making the entire setup useless.

How to Meet the Spirit Requirement

This build requires 270 Spirit, but that’s not a problem since you can get everything from a single item. The campaign alone provides 100 Spirit, and the rest can come from a Scepter. These scepters, whether unique or rare, can be found for around 30 Exalted Orbs, and as long as they provide the needed Spirit, they’ll work just fine.

For gear, an Energy Shield helmet is ideal—either an Unholy Halo or a Workshop Chain Tiara. The chestpiece, naturally, is the Temporalis Robe, with maximum Energy Shield. Other important pieces include an Ingenuity Belt, which enhances ring bonuses, resistance gloves with Energy Shield and a “Honeycomb” enchantment, and Flatfoot Boots, which provide extra damage.

Your main source of damage comes from the Choir of Storms amulet. Spark won’t deal significant damage on its own, but its critical hits will trigger this amulet’s effect, which then wipes out rivals. This means critical strike chance is the most important stat in the build—all jewels should focus on crit chance and crit damage.

How the Build Works

Instead of using a dodge roll, this build spams Blink by binding it to the spacebar. Each time Blink is used, it triggers Spark, which bounces between enemies. Spark itself isn’t the damage source—it just ensures that something gets critically hit, which in turn triggers the Choir of Storms amulet to release a devastating lightning strike. Since Spark can chain and fork, each Blink can trigger multiple amulet procs per second. This creates a continuous feedback loop: you Blink, Spark hits, the amulet procs, and then it all repeats.

There’s also an Ice Wall setup that comes in handy against bosses. The Ice Wall skill must be kept at level 13—going beyond level 15 or below level 10 can break the build. When cast correctly, Ice Wall helps set up additional Spark bounces, making boss fights ridiculously fast.

The passive skill tree follows the Monk Invoker path, with key focus areas being Whirlwind, Rage, Thunder, and Rending Foes. The most essential jewel you’ll need grants 2% mana recovery on kill, while the rest should all boost Energy Shield and critical strike stats.

The beauty of this setup is in its simplicity. By just holding down the spacebar, you can complete entire maps effortlessly. No complicated combos, no excessive button presses—just one skill triggering another in a perfect loop. The build is strong enough to handle all content, making it both effective and satisfying to play.

Why Flat Cooldown Reduction Is Broken

Skills get -2 to -4 seconds off their CD. This is huge because it’s the only item in the game that reduces cooldowns flat-out. Normally, CD recovery rate works percentage-wise—if a skill has a 4-second cooldown and you get +100% recovery, it just means it refreshes twice as fast, reducing it to 2 seconds. But you can never fully remove a CD that way.

With Temporalis, cooldowns get a direct time reduction, meaning if a ability’s base cooldown is 4 seconds or less, it can be completely removed. This allows for near-unlimited casting of powerful spells.

Modifiers Of Madness: The Path To Temporalis In This Game

This opens up some insane interactions:

  • Blink becomes fully spammable. Normally, this ability replaces your dodge roll and has a cooldown. But with a good Temporalis roll? You can teleport infinitely, only limited by your magic reserve and cast speed.
  • Frost Wall turns into a machine gun—you can just spam walls endlessly, trapping bosses and dealing massive damage, especially with Icicle Support and Shattered Crystal.
  • Grenade builds get crazy—most grenades will lose their cooldown, and since the Payload Support gem gives a 50% chance for double explosions but reduces cooldown recovery… guess what? There’s no cooldown anymore. So you get double explosions for free.
Modifiers Of Madness: The Path To Temporalis In This Game

And that’s just a few examples. Skills like Frost Bomb, certain Marks, and many others become completely busted with this armor.

How Hard Is It to Get a Perfect Roll?

Incredibly hard. The cooldown mod rolls in tiny 0.01-second increments, meaning getting the best possible stats across all mods is extremely unlikely. But if you do get that dream roll, it’s game-changing.

What is Temporalis in PoE 2?

Temporalis is a unique Silk Robe in Path of Exile 2 that provides flat cooldown reduction for skills. Unlike standard cooldown recovery mechanics, which reduce cooldowns by a percentage, Temporalis removes seconds outright, allowing certain skills to be used infinitely. This makes it one of the most game-breaking and sought-after uniques, especially for spellcaster builds that rely on cooldown-based skills.

How do I get Temporalis in Path of Exile 2?

To obtain Temporalis, you need to complete the Trial of the Sekhemas, a challenging four-floor dungeon. During this trial, you must have The Last Flame relic active, which is a rare drop from Zarokh, the Eternal. The biggest challenge, however, is the No-Hit Challenge—you must defeat Zarokh without getting hit even once. If you fail, you must restart the entire trial. This makes Temporalis one of the hardest items to obtain in the game.

Where does The Last Flame relic drop?

The Last Flame is a super rare drop from Zarokh, the Eternal, the final boss of the Trial of the Sekhemas. This fight takes place in level 75+ areas, specifically in Djinn Baryas zones. Because of its rarity, players often have to run the trial multiple times, stacking relics and modifiers that increase Unique Relic drop rates to improve their chances.

What does Temporalis do?

Temporalis has a unique modifier that reduces skill cooldowns by a flat amount, typically ranging from -2 to -4 seconds. This allows certain cooldown-based skills to be used indefinitely, creating some of the most overpowered builds in the game. Additionally, Temporalis provides up to +150 Energy Shield, +20% to all elemental resistances, and a damage recovery mechanic that converts a portion of incoming damage into a healing-over-time effect.

What are the best builds for Temporalis?

Temporalis enables some of the most powerful spell-based builds in the game, particularly those that rely on cooldown-based abilities. Some of the strongest builds include:

  • Blink-spam builds: With Temporalis, Blink skills can be used infinitely, allowing for constant teleportation, extreme mobility, and near invincibility.

  • Frost Wall machine-gun builds: Since Frost Wall has a cooldown, Temporalis removes it, letting players spam Frost Wall endlessly to trap enemies and deal massive damage.

  • Grenade builds: Certain explosive skills that require cooldowns (such as throwing grenades) can be infinitely cast, doubling or tripling damage output.

How rare is Temporalis?

Temporalis is considered one of the rarest uniques in PoE 2, not only because of its low drop rate but also due to the difficulty of acquiring it. The No-Hit Challenge makes farming this item an immense challenge, as even a single mistake means restarting the entire trial. Additionally, The Last Flame relic itself is extremely rare, meaning even players who complete the No-Hit Challenge multiple times may not always get the relic drop.

Can I trade Temporalis?

Yes, Temporalis is a tradeable item, but due to its insane rarity, it is often one of the most expensive uniques in the game. Since only the most skilled players can obtain it consistently, the supply remains extremely low, and demand from spellcaster builds ensures that it always commands a premium price.

What relics help increase The Last Flame drop rate?

Since The Last Flame relic is a rare drop, it’s essential to increase your Unique Relic drop rate when farming it. The best ways to boost drop rates include:

  • Using relics that enhance Unique Relic drops – These increase the likelihood of finding high-tier relics like The Last Flame.

  • Stacking Quantity of Relics Dropped By Monsters modifiers – More relics dropping overall means a higher chance of seeing The Last Flame.

  • Equipping Enchanted Urn (Minor Boon) – This relic increases the effect of all non-Unique Relics by 30%, indirectly improving drop chances.

What is the “No-Hit Challenge”?

The No-Hit Challenge is the primary requirement for obtaining Temporalis. To complete it, you must:

  • Finish all four floors of the Trial of the Sekhemas dungeon.

  • Defeat Zarokh, the Eternal, without taking a single hit.

  • If you get hit at any point during the trial, you must restart from the beginning.

This challenge is particularly difficult because your max Honor is set to 1, meaning even the smallest attack will fail the challenge.

Can I use defensive mechanics to survive the No-Hit Challenge?

No. The challenge specifically sets your maximum Honor to 1, meaning any damage taken will immediately fail the attempt. This prevents players from using typical survival mechanics like high Energy Shield or Life Regeneration. Instead, the best strategies involve:

  • Mastering enemy attack patterns to avoid damage entirely.

  • Using movement skills to reposition constantly.

  • Stacking evasion and dodge chance to minimize the risk of getting hit.

What are the key modifiers on Temporalis?

Temporalis comes with several powerful modifiers, including:

  • Flat skill cooldown reduction (-2 to -4 sec).

  • Up to +150 Energy Shield, providing decent survivability.

  • +20% to all elemental resistances, helping with defense.

  • 5–30% of damage taken is recovered over 8 sec, reducing burst damage effects.

How does flat cooldown reduction break the game?

Most cooldown reduction mechanics in PoE only decrease cooldowns by a percentage, meaning there’s always some minimum cooldown remaining. However, Temporalis removes cooldowns outright, allowing skills that normally have cooldowns to become spammable. This enables ridiculous builds where powerful abilities can be used infinitely, breaking the game’s balance.

What’s the best farming strategy for The Last Flame?

Since The Last Flame relic is rare, the best farming strategies involve increasing relic drop rates and running the Trial of the Sekhemas efficiently. The most effective methods include:

  • Running Zarokh (level 75+ Djinn Baryas areas) – This is the only place where The Last Flame can drop.

  • Using relics that boost Unique Relic drops – This improves your chances of getting The Last Flame instead of other relics.

  • Equipping Enchanted Urn (Minor Boon) – This increases the effectiveness of other relics, indirectly improving drop rates.

How much does Temporalis cost in trade?

Because Temporalis is so difficult to obtain, it’s considered one of the most valuable S-tier items in PoE 2. Its price fluctuates depending on demand, but it is always one of the most expensive uniques in the game, often costing a fortune in the trade market.

Is Temporalis worth the effort?

If you enjoy breaking the game with infinite skill spam, then Temporalis is absolutely worth it. However, obtaining it requires an immense grind and a perfect execution of the No-Hit Challenge, making it one of the most difficult items to acquire in the entire game. If you’re up for the challenge and have the patience to farm The Last Flame, the reward is an item that enables some of the most powerful builds in PoE 2 history.
