WoW Day of the Dead 2026: Vendor, Quests & Rewards

WoW Day of the Dead 2026 will run from November 1 at 10:00 UTC until November 3 at 10:00 UTC. Visit the holiday graveyards to find Chapman, complete The Grateful Dead for Macabre Marionette, and buy costumes, mount armor and transmogs.

Vendor location and graveyard routes

Chapman, the Day of the Dead vendor in WoW, stands beside Catrina at the holiday sites near capital-city graveyards. For the quest, choose your race's home graveyard or a neutral location; races without a racial quest version need a neutral site.

Some zones may require speaking to a bronze dragon to access their earlier version. The coordinates below lead to the cheerful quest spirits at those sites.

Neutral quest locations

Any race or faction can complete the quest at the graveyards serving Shattrath, Wrath Dalaran or Legion Dalaran.

Alliance quest locations

For Stormwind, head behind the Cathedral to the cemetery; for the Exodar's holiday site, head south of Azure Watch on Azuremyst Isle. The Ironforge graveyard sits outside the city in Dun Morogh.

Horde quest locations

Orgrimmar's site is south of the city beside the road toward Razor Hill, while Silvermoon's is outside the city along the western wall. For Undercity, look in the aboveground Ruins of Lordaeron courtyard.

The Grateful Dead quest and Macabre Marionette

The Grateful Dead is the event's only quest, and you can complete it once. Prepare at least one Simple Flour and one Ice Cold Milk before traveling: Cooking Suppliers sell the flour, and innkeepers or food-and-drink vendors sell the milk.

1. At your eligible graveyard, buy Recipe: Bread of the Dead from Chapman and learn it with Cooking skill 1.
2. Buy Orange Marigold or Marigold Petal Offering Bowl from him to reveal the spirit.
3. Activate your flower item at the graveyard, then speak to the cheerful spirit and accept The Grateful Dead.
4. Make Bread of the Dead using your flour and milk at the nearby Ghostly Fire.
5. Give the bread to the spirit to receive Macabre Marionette, a skeleton companion with a sombrero and maracas.

Orange Marigold is consumed when used, while Marigold Petal Offering Bowl is reusable; their spirit-revealing use is limited to the holiday. Macabre Marionette stays in your collection permanently.

Chapman vendor items and prices

Quest supplies and holiday consumables

Bread of the Dead, Candy Skull, Marigold Petal Offering Bowl, Orange Marigold, Recipe: Bread of the Dead, Spirit Candle and Whimsical Skull Mask require the holiday to be active for use. Learn the recipe and finish the food hand-in before the event closes.

Contender's Costume toys

Chapman sells five costume toys for 100 gold apiece.

• "Blooming Rose" Contender's Costume: A collectible outfit for contender fights.
• "Night Demon" Contender's Costume: A collectible outfit for contender fights.
• "Purple Phantom" Contender's Costume: A collectible outfit for contender fights.
• "Santo's Sun" Contender's Costume: A collectible outfit for contender fights.
• "Snowy Owl" Contender's Costume: A collectible outfit for contender fights.

Buy the toys during the holiday; you can activate them and earn their combat achievements throughout the year. Each activation applies a removable two-minute costume buff, and you can activate the toy again after one minute.

Mount armor and transmogs

Cliffside Wylderdrake: Day of the Dead Armor costs 50,000 gold and unlocks a holiday saddle appearance for your Cliffside Wylderdrake.

Chapman's transmog selection contains 17 options: a bouquet, a skull mask, and crowns, deathmasks and remembrance veils in Heartblossom, Lotus, Marigold, Orchid and Starflower variants.

Whimsical Skull Mask's transmog appearance can be worn only during Day of the Dead.

Day of the Dead achievements

For Dead Man's Party, target Catrina and type /dance; the resulting Honor the Dead buff changes you into Catrina or Chapman for 12 hours. For the contender achievements, both you and your opponent need to activate a costume toy before fighting.

Costume combat abilities and tips

A costume gives you an extra action button with a randomly selected attack; using it rolls another attack for the button.

Quick Punch

Quick Punch hits contenders ahead of you for damage equal to 10% of their health.

Strong Sweep

Strong Sweep deals 20% health damage in a cone extending four yards and knocks affected contenders down for 0.5 or 1.5 seconds.

Jump Attack

Jump Attack carries you forward and strikes contenders in a 2.5-yard circular area for 30% health damage, knocking contenders down for 1.5 or 3 seconds.

Keep opponents in front of you and use Jump Attack to close the distance. Save your shopping for before your fighting session.

Removing armor does not make traded victories faster because these attacks deal percentage-based damage. Losing a costume fight kills your character, but dying while costumed does not damage your equipment's durability. Fight inside an instance to avoid the resurrection timer.
