The Tidebound Grotto is the season’s Lair, a 15–25 player instanced mini-raid built around Nymrissa Wavecaller that scales through flexible Mythic difficulty. It drops raid-level loot and counts toward the Raid row of the Great Vault.

Altar of Fangs contributes two special-effect weapons — Sharpened Lightwood Slasher, whose attacks can burn the target dealing Holy damage, and Polished Lightwood Channeler — plus four special-effect trinkets: Coiled Fangstone, Knot of Writhing Serpents, Tattered Amani War Banner, and Vile Vial of Volatile Venom, with exact values still subject to PTR tuning. King’s Rest also returns the unique weapon Geti’ikku, Cut of Death.
Ula’tek drops four Venomcursed cantrip armor pieces — Awoken Dreadfang Cuirass, Gaze of the Coiled Watcher, Venomkeeper’s Horrific Cowl, and Chausses of Unbound Rancor — that retain their special effects through Matrix Catalyst conversion. Some of these effects temporarily boost Critical Strike chance, Haste, or Mastery while lowering the character’s other secondary stats.

The first four pieces reduce Deadly Venom damage in the raid and outdoor zone; Aqirbane Reliquary carries a separate Ula’tek stat-shifting effect.

Every class gets a new six-appearance set (Raid Finder, Normal, Heroic, Mythic, Gladiator, Elite) across five slots — head, shoulders, chest, hands, legs — available through the Venomous Abyss, Great Vault, PvP, and Matrix Catalyst. Mythic+ Season 2 Rewards
The two major Mythic+ rewards are rating-gated skyfang mounts: Breath of Blight at 2,000 rating and Breath of Ruin at 3,000 rating. Season 2 also offers dungeon teleports and the Venomous Hero title for finishing in the regional top 0.1%. A +10 or higher awards Myth 1/6 Great Vault gear, matching Heroic raid’s starting track.

Prey Season 2 Rewards
Preyhunter’s Fury comes from Construct V’anore for 2,250 Remnant of Anguish, gated behind Prey Journey Rank 10; Hexflame Reaver is tied to Ral’kala instead. Nightmare Prey Hunts also feed Champion gear boxes into the Ascendant Venomstone system and award Corrosive Souls, which add outdoor-focused effects to belts and bracers (not usable in raids or dungeons).
PvP Season 2 Rewards
Season 2 PvP includes the Vicious Lightbloom Boar from the Rated PvP mount bar and the Venomous Gladiator’s Goredrake for 50 3v3 wins while at Elite rank. Rival II at 1,950 rating awards the Venomcoil weapon illusion. The season also adds the Venomous Gladiator’s Tabard, although its precise PTR requirement isn’t listed yet, plus additional Elite and Rank 1 appearances and seasonal titles.

Patch 12.1 Transmog and Collectibles
Beyond the class tier sets, Patch 12.1 adds Cloth, Leather, Mail, and Plate outdoor armor from dungeons, Delves, Prey Hunts, World Quests, Renown, and PvP, with a different recolor per activity. Datamined cosmetics also include Assassin’s Attire recolors, Spice Witch shop sets, friendship bracelets, creature masks, an Amani-themed weapon collection, and housing decorations, with most acquisition sources unconfirmed.

Patch 12.1 Currencies and Gearing Systems
Nebulous Voidcores are the season’s bonus-roll currency, selectable as a Great Vault consolation option from the first Season 2 Vault. Raid bonus rolls cost one Voidcore instead of two, and Orin Straylight provides an extra weekly Voidcore starting in Week 8.
Matrix Catalyst conversions preserve a base item’s secondary and tertiary stats along with qualifying special effects such as Venomcursed cantrips; a full four-piece set unlocks Catalyst Unbound, after which charges drop from Season 2 raid bosses, Mythic+ dungeons, Bountiful Delves, and rated PvP.
Ascendant Venomstones arrive later in Season 2. Ten upgrade an eligible, fully upgraded Hero/Myth or max-quality crafted weapon, trinket, or necklace to a Myth 8-equivalent ceiling. Sources include Heroic/Mythic raid bosses, +10 or higher Mythic+ dungeons, Tier 11 Bountiful Delves, and Nightmare Prey Hunt Champion gear boxes.
