Any Ancient Tree unique abilities I should be aware of?
Certainly. The Ancient Tree, like most of the raid bosses in Tarisland, has several abilities that could instantly kill you, possibly ending days of preparation and ruining your day. For starters:
- Flower Ray: at the beginning of the boss fight, four flowers will spawn in cardinal directions from the boss. At some points during the boss fight they will shoot the Ancient Tree, granting him additional damage to the point of wiping your entire team in one swift attack. To avoid that, a damage dealer must be assigned to each flower, damaging it constantly;
- Rage of Nature: a powerful AoE ability triggered at the end of Phase 1. This one’s particularly displeasing, since there’s no way to actually dodge or cancel it. All you have to do, and all you can do, is to stick to your healer, while he furiously mashes some radial AoE healing spell;
- Pollinate: another potential team-ender introduced in Phase 2. Randomly, the Ancient Tree will debuff a random player with a contagious effect. Affected players take twice as much damage and can potentially infect other players, spreading the debuff. We’ve been through this a couple of years back – stay away from other players, dodge any incoming attacks,
get vaccinated, and wait for the illness to pass.
