How do the Tiers of powerful PvP gear work in Cataclysm Classic?
There are three levels of what we can call Tiers of PvP equipment in Cataclysm Classic (we’ll leave out crafted PvP gear for now), with new Tier sets boasting higher ilvl being added at the beginning of each following season (those seasons usually coincide with new content updates).
- The lowest tier is purchasable with Honor points, which you can gather in unrated battlegrounds and world PvP experience (killing opponents in the open world). Here’s where you can spend your Honor points to buy Honor gear;
- The second tier is the epic-quality Conquest gear, which you can get with Conquest points. You can farm Conquest points by playing through the Ranked Arena battles and completing Rated Battlegrounds (which is harder than PvP activities for Honor gear).
- The highest tier is the recolored version of the second one. You can convert the second tier into the highest tier by scoring 2200 or higher in Arena/RBG Rating. Gear stats or item levels do not improve after conversion.
Will I earn Cataclysmically Superior and Cataclysmically Epic achievements during the Cataclysm PvP BiS Gear Boost?
Let’s first try to understand how these achievements work. Cataclysmically Superior needs you to equip a 333 ilvl item (or higher) in each gear slot, and Cataclysmically Epic wants you to do the same, but with item level 359 or higher.
