About Gruul’s Lair Boost From Epiccarry
Gruul’s Lair is one of three raids that become available right at the release of the TBC Classic. It is a 25-man two-boss instance that doesn’t require attunement. Gruul’s Lair is located in Blade’s Edge Mountains and is inhabited by ogres and gronns.
It was quite unique back in the day because your group absolutely needed a Mage and a Warlock and a Moonkin to tank the adds at the first boss encounter — High King Maulgar. Besides this bizarre requirement, the fight is pretty easy as long as the group kills the adds in a certain way.
This raid heavily favors ranged DPS due to the fact that both bosses utilize abilities that do a ton of damage at close range around them. Not only that, but some other abilities also inflict damage and apply negative effects in an area around them that necessitates maintaining proper distance from your fellow raid members.
Epiccarry team performs WoW TBC Classic dungeon boosts for Gruul’s Lair as well as other tier 4 raid instances. Our boosters have slain Gruul multiple times in beta and are certainly up to the task.
Burning Crusade Gruul’s Lair Raid Instance Guide
This is the Tier 4 Burning Crusade Classic raid dungeon that is located on the northern road of Blade’s Edge Mountains and consists of two bosses in the large cave – High King Maulgar and Gruul the Dragonkiller. Both of these two bosses are quite easy to kill. We will explain all the tactic aspects in-depth guide below.
Hight King Maulgar Tactic
This boss consists of 5 monsters that stand in the large cave and should be killed to complete the encounter: Blindeye the Seer, Olm the Summoner, Krosh Firehand, Kiggler the Crazed, High King Maulgar. The fight requires good raid cooperation and the correct order of killing monsters. We highly recommend killing them in the next order:
- Blindeye the Seer
- Olm the Summoner
- Krosh Firehand
- Kiggler the Crazed
- High King Maulgar
Blindeye the Seer – priest add that does nothing special, just casting heals that should be interrupted. You should tank blindeye by the tank that needs to be focused by 1-2 heals.
Olm the Summoner – warlock add that fears with coil and summons the Felhunter add. Should be tanked by a tank or warlock can enslave the Felhunter and tank with it the Warlock.
Krosh Firehand – mage add, casts Fire Ward Shield that absorbs the fire damage and makes a blast wave AOE. Should be tanked by a mage that will be spell stealing the Fire Ward Shield, need to be killed only by a ranged DPS as melee DPS can’t attack it due to blast wave.
Kiggler the Crazed – shaman add, casts sheep, lightning bolt and makes knockback. Can be tanked by a hunter or shaman. Should be focused by a melee DPS while ranged DPS killing the made add.
High King Maulgar – main boss, doing cleave in melee and whirlwind. Need to be tanked by the most geared tank near the wall with 3 heals focusing him. Boss has 2 phases. One the first phase boss doing fear in melee and charge in range. In the second phase, the boss does the same as in the first phase and gets a stacking debuff that increases his damage, best of all is to use a bloodlust spell on this phase.
Gruul the Dragonkiller Tactic
The fight itself is very easy and has no phases. All the raids need to spread around the room in groups of 5-6 people with 1 healer on every group. The main tank and off-tank need to stand close and be on the top of the aggro list. In case any DPS will become second on the aggro meter, most of all it will be fast death for him as boss dealing damage among MT and OT because of Hurtful Strike. During the fight boss will not do any special things, the raid needs to remember only about 2 abilities:
Cave In – you need to avoid areas where falls the stones of the top;
Ground Slam – the boss will hit the ground knock back all the players in random directions, slowing them with gronn lord’s grasp debuff and turning them in stone in 5 seconds. After that it will cast Shatter ability that will hit everyone around the stoned target, that is why it is very important to keep distant 5 yards between each raider especially in melee range before Shatter cast.
Gruul is the easiest end boss of raid dungeon in burning crusade classic warcraft expansion. Just a bit of practice and your raid should easily kill him.
