Kyle’s Gone Missing in WoW Forever: Start and Rewards

Kyle's Gone Missing is live in the WoW Forever beta, and you start it by talking to Ahab Wheathoof in Bloodhoof Village, the first town you reach while questing in Mulgore. The quest sends you out to hunt plainstriders for Tender Strider Meat, which you feed to Kyle so he returns home. It was added to the beta in the October 1 patch, after players asked for it.

Where to start Kyle's Gone Missing

Ahab Wheathoof stands in Bloodhoof Village in Mulgore, the Tauren starting zone. If you roll a Tauren, you will pass through the village early on, so the quest is easy to reach. You can pick it up as soon as you hit level 5.

How to complete the quest

Hunt plainstriders until one drops Tender Strider Meat, then feed it to Kyle to bring him home. Kyle the Frenzied runs in a wide circle around Bloodhoof Village, and when he is nearby you click the Tender Strider Meat to make him stop and eat. Once he has eaten, he settles down and goes home.

Rewards

The original version of the quest rewarded 55 silver, 200 XP and +250 reputation with Thunder Bluff.

Why the quest is in WoW Forever

Kyle's Gone Missing was created through a Make-A-Wish campaign for Ezra Chatterton, who was diagnosed with brain cancer in 2007. Chatterton, who played as Ephoenix, voiced the quest giver Ahab Wheathoof and had his own dog Kyle added to the game. The quest first went live in patch 2.1.2 on June 19, 2007, and Chatterton passed away in October 2008 at the age of 12.

Because the quest was added during The Burning Crusade, it was not part of WoW Forever's foundation, and players noticed it was missing from the beta. Blizzard community manager Kaivax responded to the requests, and the quest was added to the beta in the October 1 patch. Principal Game Designer Johnny Cash, who added it, said he had "the honor and privilege" of bringing the quest into WoW Forever.
