Are scout rifles meta in Destiny 2?
Scout rifles are balanced rather than dominant. They no longer sit below every other primary weapon, but they do not rule endgame PvE either. In the PvE primary rankings they hold B tier while Hand Cannons and Pulse Rifles sit at S tier, with Auto Rifles and Bows at A.
In PvP the weapon type ranks C as a whole because most maps are too small to make use of scout range and scouts are poor up close.
Their value comes from safety rather than speed. You can plink away at enemies from a distance in high-level content, but most players still prefer a Hand Cannon or SMG because those do the same job faster.
