Each book has its own quest, so you can hand them in as you find them rather than carrying all 25 at once. The 25 books are 25 different books in total, with the 20 for the ring counting toward the total — five more after the ring. The librarian only offers the quest if you are already carrying a book.

Take each book to your faction librarian: Garion Wendell in the Mage Tower of Stormwind City, or Owen Thadd in the Magic Quarter of Undercity. The questline is open to all classes, not just mages.
The three level 30 rewards
- Truthseeker's Bow — usable at level 30 with no level requirement, and it comes first among ranged weapons in hunter, warrior and rogue BiS lists.
- Crest of Elucidation — a healing shield that requires level 40 to equip.

How to reach 25 books
Books do not drop from mobs; each one is looted from a fixed object in the world such as a bookshelf, a pile of scrolls or a tome on a table. The first set contains 16 books, so reaching 25 takes at least 9 from higher-level zones. The extra books stand outside dungeons in zones written for levels 35 to 60, so travel with care. Alliance characters cannot take the Orgrimmar book of the first set and need seven of the higher-level books instead.
