WotLK Wintergrasp Boost

The original Wrath of the Lich King contained Wintergrasp, which was an integral and highly important component of the game. Every three hours players of either faction could join the assault on the Wintergrasp citadel by queuing up at a Battlemaster in the city of Wintergrasp. The chosen players were then teleported to the location of Wintergrasp, where the side that had prevailed in the previous match was tasked with defending the fortress while the other side was responsible for using a collection of siege engines to conquer it. Players of both attacking and defending sides can rank up by slaying enemies and each rank granted them various benefits on the battlefield, like the ability to use more powerful siege engines. In the end, the victorious party gained access to the fortress and all NPCs and instances that were located in it for three hours.

Owning Wintergrasp was important because you could get Wintergrasp Marks of Honor, a unique currency that, as the name suggests, can only be obtained and spent on Wintergrasp. These Marks can buy you valuable gear, inscriptions, and even mounts. Moreover, the faction that owns Wintergrasp can freely farm the Archavon boss which resides beneath the fortress. The boss is pretty easy and is a quick way of getting a level 213 piece of gear, or even a Black War Mammoth mount if you’re lucky.

This is why many players camped in the Wintergrasp in order to get there as soon as the battle starts and be chosen this way. This is no longer a feasible way to do Wintergrasp in WotLK Classic due to messed-up faction balance and high server population, so devs changed the system by moving fights in separate instances to address these issues and give everyone a fair chance to participate in the siege.

Even though the changes brought by the WotLK Classic should counter the faction imbalance and low odds of actually getting into the battle, the task of farming hundreds of Marks of Honor is still very tiresome and time-consuming.
