Frequently Asked Questions

What are Zakarum Remnants in Diablo 4?

The Zakarum Remnants are a bunch of devout followers still clinging to the teachings of Akarat. You know, the kind of holy folks who smite first, ask questions later.

They’re exclusive to Diablo 4’s Season of Hatred Rising. They serve up the core seasonal questline. Want to get on their good side? You’ll need to fight Realmwalkers. Kill enough of those, and your rep with the Zakarum Remnants will fly up.

The Zakarum Remnants’ activities revolve around smiting evil, clearing out Seething Realm dungeons, and acquiring some sweet loot in the process. So if you’re looking to flex your holy muscles, you’ve found the right crowd. Just don’t expect them to offer you a cup of tea. They’re more into fighting demons than making small talk.

How to Start the Zakarum Remnants Questline?

Well, first things first you need to either finish the main campaign or skip it. Once you’re done with that, head over to Zarbinzet in Hawezar and talk to Crusader Damond. Trust me, you can’t miss him, he’s the guy who looks like he’s seen one too many demonic invasions.

This grumpy crusader will toss you a quest called Creeping Hatred. Don’t worry, the name is more menacing than the first steps of the quest.  The real fun begins when you start figuring out how to take down these Realmwalkers. Once you learn how to handle them you’ll gain the ability to wield the Seething Realm’s power.

This questline is tied to the Season of Hatred Rising.

How to Farm Zakarum Remnants Reputation?

Alright, let’s talk farming Zakarum Remnants reputation. Spoiler alert, it’s going to take some good ol’ demon-slaying commitment. Grab your sword, potion, and a dose of patience.

Step one: find and kill Realmwalkers. Yep, those ugly mini-bosses that spawn in Hatred Rising region events. They pop up about every 15 minutes, so keep one eye on the clock and the other on your map. When you see one, drop what you’re doing and go full Hulk-smash mode on them.

After you down a Realmwalker and feel that sweet rush of victory, head to a Seething Realm dungeon. Why? Because inside these dungeons, you’ll get Seething Opals. These opals are basically your rep-boosting fuel, letting you farm Remnants from any monster for a solid 30 minutes. Yes, that means even the tiniest, squishiest demon has a shot at dropping something useful.

Another sneaky way to farm rep is to murder all the hollow mobs in the same zones where Hatred Rising events are happening. You’ll find them chilling in the Region Event areas and inside the Seething Realm dungeons, so you might as well clean them out while you’re there. Remember: “If it moves, it’s loot.”
