Namely, Castle Nathria Raid will be the topic for today and we will cover everything about it – including a mini-guide, bounty, transmogs, items, and other aspects regarding the whole thing. What’s more, we are going to supply you with how to beat Raid’s bosses including the unlock itinerary.
Now, Raid took place December 8th/9th (US/EU) coming in 2 difficulties – Normal and Heroic. And, that’s the beginning raid here in Shadowlands. Moreover, let’s begin talking about some basics and then move on with a guide that will cover all essentials.
A place to visit – Castle Nathria
Suffice to say, in case you enjoy the Gothic style, then you’ll love this activity located at the Gothic castle called Nathria. Castle placement is in Revendreth, with its core somewhere around the middle of it. Furthermore, this place is a home for 10 bosses who intend to cross the path with everyone. Finally, available is even a quick assignment that will push you towards the penultimate boss fight.
So, the whole thing begins with a bit of your help towards the Sire Denathrius and his minions as the storyline goes. But, suddenly, this story is going to erupt to its upheaval. We won’t go into every nook and cranny, because you’ll anyhow immerse yourself in the story itself and get your spoiler-free experience.
Now, there we know of 2 available raids that are scheduled at this moment. We mentioned the beginning one above and the second became available December 15th/16th – ‘’Mythic difficulty Castle Nathria, Wing 1 Raid Finder’’.
Other instances will unlock starting January 5th/6th with Wing 2, following 19th /20th with Wing 3, and ending February 2nd/3rd with Wing 4.
Loot & Aspiration
Logically, a big part of loot is going to be rewarded to you after you slay bosses, and we already told you that there’re exactly ten bosses to look out for. And, when you add a difficulty level, you get the following:
- Defeating 2 bosses (that are last) in this place will give 194LFR along with loot item level 207 for Normal, 219 for Heroic, and 233 for Mythic
- Defeating 8 bosses (the first ones) in this place will give you 187LFR along with loot item level 200 for Normal, 213 for Heroic, and 226 for Mythic.
Moving on, it’s important to know some things regarding the loot.
The first fact – Plenty of Legendary recipes will be provided to you here since they will 100% drop as you raid this castle.
The second thing – Killing tools will be available once you kill bosses, but in for of Anima Spheres as you will further trade them at the Sanctum of your Covenant. Doing so will result in getting more personalized weapons, having Covenant-ornated design.
Third – There aren’t any Warforged/Titanforged Items meaning no more chance that killing tools on the ground won’t have a slight chance of coming with an increased level. Precisely, obtaining better-leveled weapons by 5 or 10 levels for Warforged and by 15 levels higher for Titanforged is removed. Too bad, huh?!
Next, some valuable stuff thati s only available in form of a laying item on the ground in Castle Nathria:
- Most Regal Signet of Sire Denathrius – Strength in these components ties to The Maw! Therefore, it diminishes the rate at which the Jailer’s Eye will observe you, and thus the torment from The Eye will lessen.
- Precisely Calibrated Chronometer – Allow you to enter into time designation of local world
- The Charm of Eternal Winter – It cast an enchantment on a Beast from outdoors zones of Shadowlands. Altering its mind, the beast will help you fight mobs for 5 minutes and it will require a 1-hour cooldown for enchanting the next beast.
- Portable Pocket Dimension – This is a bag with 32 slots to provide room for your belongings.
Besides, there’s a possibility that the best loot will occur when opening the Great Vault every week. Normally, ravaging stronger bosses surely will result in better items and everything that goes with it. By implementing this strategy, it’s a guarantee that Castle Nathria prizes will be among other loot choices in the Great Vault.
In regards to Achievements, it’s best to know a thing or two. However, only one is known to be special, since other achievements may also include prizes in the near future.
Finally, when talking about Titles, we are familiar with 2 of them which are rewarded to you once you slay Sire Denathrius following these rules:
- Sinbreaker – Taking life away from the last boss will grant you this – Sire Denathrius on Mythic hardness.
- Famed Slayer of Denathrius – Defeating the last enemy will grant you this title – Sire Denathrius among the first one hundred players from Horde/Alliance on Mythic. Simply said, your name will be written in Shadowlands history.

This Achievement consists out of a series of minor tasks, which when completed, will ensure you with the major stuff. Besides, Rampart Screecher is a cool, bat-like mount that evokes terror and fear. It’s safe to say it goes amazingly with Castle Nathria lore and essence, and this represents a great crown for this Raid.

Leather set – This set includes a vampire-hunter trenchcoat with 6 possible tints

Boss guide
Now that we saw the most of this place, let’s see how to beat those 10 nasty bosses. Not forgetting, Boss fights are semi-predestined, meaning it’s important to slay it after the boss following a game’s pattern on one side. Despite, sometimes you’ll also have an option to branch off when choosing which boss fight, you’ll pick up next.
We will begin with the Shriekwing boss and you probably won’t have any problems with defeating it. When it’s over, it’s up to you to make a decision about one of two paths. First, moving to the Catacombs Wing and kill these 3 enemies there:
- Huntsman Altimor
- Hungering Destroyer
- Lady Inerva Darkvein
The second path leads directly to Royal Quarters Wing and it’s needed to slay these 3 enemies:
- Sun King’s Salvation
- Artificer Xy’Mox
- The Council of Blood
Whichever path you choose, both of them should be cleared to move further. Therefore, the next direction is Upper Spire with 3 final bosses:
- Sludgefist
- Stone Legion Generals
- Sire Denathrius
Important note: 9th and 10th bosses fall under a harder category, so you might jump a few hoops before defeating them. Now, do you remember a skip we mentioned somewhere in the beginning? Well, the skip is granted by completing Castle Nathria: Getting a Head quest where you need to slay Sludgefist four times. Everything should be done on Mythic difficulty so once you get it over with, everyone should have the option to skip the Stone Legion Generals.
