Your senses are correct. But it’s more like interesting Trivia, rather than actual lore. So once upon a time, Tarkov’s developers had another small, but very cozy and idea-driven company under their wing called AbsolutSoft. The one that produced such rough gems as Contract Wards and Hired Ops. Never heard of these? No one blames you, but get that – both CW and HO are literal prequels of Tarkov, with a lot of ideas and gameplay mechanics of EFT coming directly from these games! It’s a Dark Sector/Warframe kind of situation, really, one title has failed – and another a lot more developed came to life because of it.
