Torment difficulty in Diablo 4 is where the real pain begins. This isn’t just “oh no, the monsters are slightly tougher” kind of pain. Everything you fight will actively try to end your career. Once you hit level 60, you’re ready to dive into The Pit, and this is where the Torment levels unlock, with each higher level being a fresh new hell of punishing debuffs. But why do it?
Because loot, my friend. Once you’re in Torment difficulty, you can start getting those sweet Ancestral items. And if you like your loot hard-earned, you’re in the right place.
So, think of Torment as the final exams of your Diablo build. You’ve spent hours leveling up, perfecting your skills, farming for decent gear, and now it’s time to see if your build can handle getting kicked in the teeth on a regular basis.
Good luck, you’ll need it. (And also maybe some armor repair money.)
There are currently four Torment difficulties in Diablo 4, but each one feels like it’s laughing at your previous accomplishments. Oh, you thought Torment 1 was hard? Wait until you meet higher Torments.
The deeper you go into the levels of The Pit, the nastier the world becomes, and just when you think you’ve seen it all, Torment 4 arrive to ruin your day. At this point, it’s not even about beating the game anymore, it’s about showing who’s boss.
So yeah, four Torment difficulties. Try not to die… too much.
