Complete the first three chapters of the Secrets of the First Ones zone campaign. After that, research Sopranian Understanding and complete The Final Song questlines.

Complete The Lost Component and A New Architect

After the daily reset, complete The Lost Component and A New Architect quests to unlock Protoform Synthesis. Complete the Protoform Synthesis quest after that.

Find the Schematic

The schematic for Desertwing Hunter can be found in the Plain of Actualization sub-zone. There is a tall pillar close to the platform with the daily quest mob. The schematic is located on top of the pillar. You need to have the flight in Zereth Mortis unlocked or Door of Shadows to reach it.

Craft the mount

After obtaining the Schematic: Desertwing Hunter, bring it to the Protoform Repository to learn how to create the Desertwing Hunter mount. The resources required to craft it are as follows:

• 400 Genesis Motes: Drops from mobs all around Zereth Mortis
• 1 Wind’s Infinite Call: Obtained from avian mobs around Zereth Mortis
