How to get the Highwind Darkmane mount

The Highwind Darkmane is a unique devourer mount that can be obtained from a specific mission in your Shadowlands command table. Here’s a comprehensive guide to help you obtain it:

Unlock Tactical Insight

The first step towards obtaining the Highwind Darkmane mount is to unlock your Tactical Insight by spending 500 Reservoir Anima and 1 Redeemed Soul inside your covenant anima conductor.

Accumulate Adventure Campaign Progress

Once you’ve unlocked your Tactical Insight, you can begin accumulating Adventure Campaign Progress, which is needed to trigger the Campaign: War-Captain’s Woe. It is recommended to complete several campaigns before attempting to tackle the mount missions.

Choose a Covenant

The recommended covenants to hunt the mission are either Necrolords or Night Fae.

Complete Basic XP Missions

Complete both basic XP missions and the missions that provide Adventure Campaign Progress currency to balance your progress.

Complete Adventure Campaign Missions

Completing the Adventure campaign missions will provide you missions that require higher-level followers, but also provide greater rewards. The rewards go like this: Gear – Pets – Rep tokens – Mounts.

Reach Level 17 Adventure Campaign Progress

To start procuring the mount missions, your Adventure campaign progress has to be on level 17. The level 17 mission will provide you the first mount, level 18 the second, level 19 the third, and level 20 the final mount, which will end the Command table progress.

Notes:

  • Keep running the highest-level missions until the mount mission appears, as there is no guarantee that it will appear every time.
  • While upgrading your command table to level 2 or level 3 is not necessary to have a chance for this mission, having a higher level of followers is recommended to increase your chances of success.
  • Players using the Venture plan addon can track their campaign progress on the addon’s UI, but players who don’t use this can see the campaign progress by typing the command /script print(C_CurrencyInfo.GetCurrencyInfo(1889).quantity).
  • Other mounts available through Tactical Insight are Chittering Animite, Warstitched-darkhound, and Darkwarren Hardshell.
