Is the Nuclear Medal awarded for using the Nuke Scorestreak?

It isn’t, no. A Nuclear Medal is awarded for reaching 30 killstreak, which is the same as the requirement for summoning the Nuke, hence the confusion. However, if Nuke isn’t equipped as one of your killstreaks when you receive the Nuclear Medal, you, unfortunately, won’t be able to use it.
Having a Nuclear Medal in your Operator’s Medal Collection is an achievement by itself, though, so don’t worry about missing on evaporating the enemy team – surely you’ll have another chance to do so. You’ll have to master every single weapon to try can obtain it, or, alternatively, just purchase our service and forget about grind, saving yourself some valuable time (meaning many, many hours of farming).
