The Comedian is a Legendary Void Special shotgun with an Aggressive Frame (hard-hitting, high recoil, increased ROF after a kill). It’s a Nightfall: The Ordeal weapon introduced in Season of the Lost, available in both standard and Adept versions when it’s in rotation.
How to unlock The Comedian shotgun?
To unlock The Comedian you must complete Nightfall strikes during a week where The Comedian is the featured Nightfall weapon. After your first drop, you can usually buy additional copies from Zavala using Vanguard Engrams, Glimmer and other ritual currency, or use Nightfall-focused weapon focusing when it’s available. Adept versions come from Grandmaster Nightfalls and can also be purchased via Zavala when the rotation and currency requirements are met.
Is The Comedian good in PvP?
Yes, but it’s not top tier. The Comedian is generally treated as a B-tier PvP shotgun. The Aggressive Frame gives strong one-shot potential at close range. Perks like Subsistence, Ensemble, Hip-Fire Grip, and Vorpal Weapon make it viable for lane pushes and duels, especially when you want extra effectiveness versus Guardians in their Super. It’s perfectly usable with the right roll, but lighter-feeling meta shotguns with stronger range or handling will still be more forgiving for most Crucible players.
Is The Comedian good for PvE activities?
Yes—especially for aggressive PvE play. The Comedian is often rated A-tier in PvE thanks to Subsistence: kills partially refill the magazine, keeping you in the fight without constant reloading. Trench Barrel or Vorpal Weapon: Trench gives a large damage spike after a melee; Vorpal provides flat extra damage versus bosses and Champions. That combination makes it a strong add-clear and burst-damage shotgun, especially in mid-tier and high-end PvE, where you are constantly engaging groups and majors.
