Frequently Asked Questions

Is there a secret strategy that will help me farm Quick Play Wins more efficiently?

That’s the secret only our boosters know, sorry, can’t do – NDA was signed and everything. Still, there are a couple of general tips we can share with you:

  • Play Support – Many players prefer Damage or Tank roles, leaving Support underpicked. A strong healer can carry games by keeping teammates alive and ensuring sustained fights;
  • Queue for Open Queue – Open Queue mode allows more flexibility in team composition, and casual players tend to frequent it, making wins easier to secure;
  • Use Moira – If you’re new to Support, Moira is a great pick. She has solid healing and damage output, making her a strong choice for carrying Quick Play matches;
  • Communicate with Your Team – Even in QP, great communication with your teammates can drastically improve your win rate;
  • Adapt to the Meta – Stay updated on the strongest heroes and strategies to maximize your effectiveness.

Do Quick Play Games have any sort of SBMM in Overwatch?

Yes, Overwatch does have Skill-Based Matchmaking (SBMM) in QP, though it’s generally looser than in CM. Players are matched based on a hidden Matchmaking Rating (MMR), which helps create balanced games. However, since QP is more casual, the matchmaking system isn’t as strict, meaning you might occasionally face opponents of significantly different skill levels.

Some players feel that QP matchmaking can be inconsistent, especially when they end up against much higher-ranked opponents. While SBMM exists, it’s not as tightly controlled as in ranked play.

So if you’re coming in OW2 after CoD, and are afraid that the game will put you against Twitch pros after a couple of wins, then you can relax – nothing like that will happen.
