Effect Description

Gain Instability on Kill

Each enemy kill grants Instability stacks that eventually cause a massive physical explosion on the player if they expire

Players who Die in area are sent to the Void

Death permanently sends the character to the Void league, making the character inaccessible

Maximum number of Players in Area is one

Only one player can normally enter the map, preventing party-based assistance

Players are assaulted by many dangerous Apparitions

Apparitions of major bosses such as The Shaper, The Elder, and Sirus appear and attack during combat

The Maven interferes with Players

The Maven follows the player and casts dangerous abilities similar to boss witness encounters

Area is inhabited by Kitava’s Heralds

Normal monsters are replaced with powerful Herald enemies spawned from Hearts of the Insatiable

Area is inhabited by Porcupines

Packs of deadly Goliath monsters appear and release projectiles on death

Area contains additional packs of Restless Dead

Reviving undead monsters repeatedly return unless their corpses are destroyed

Area contains Einhar, Exilehunter

An aggressive enemy version of Einhar appears and attacks the player

Area becomes fatal after some time

The map becomes instantly lethal after several minutes, killing the player

Portals to Area close over time

Entry portals close gradually, limiting retries

Area becomes increasingly lethal

Players gain stacking damage taken over time through the Lethality debuff

Players are assaulted by Ruinous Ghosts

Untargetable ghosts inflict Ruin stacks that can fail the map

Players in Area are driven mad

Hidden insanity effects may alter gameplay behaviour

When Hit, Players gain a random Movement Speed modifier

Movement speed fluctuates between heavy slow and massive speed boost
