Weapon Types

When choosing a weapon, you should remember that even if your class can use a certain type of weapon, it will not always be useful. For example, although Rogues can use a bow, it will not be useful in combat.

Two-Handed Swords

Two-handed swords are suitable for classes such as Warrior, Death Knight, Paladin, Hunter, and Evokers. Most often, two-handed swords have a Strength main stat, but there are exceptions.

Below, you can see a list of available two-handed swords in the dungeons of the second season of The War Within:

• Emberbrand Zweihander – Priory of the Sacred Flame;
• Circuit Breaker – Operation: Floodgate.

Two-Handed Axes

You can equip a two-handed axe if your class is Warrior, Death Knight, Paladin, Hunter, Shaman, or Evoker. Most often, this type of weapon can be found with the Strength main stat, but other stats are also rarely found.

Two-Handed Maces

Two-handed maces are weapons that can be equipped by a Warrior, Death Knight, Paladin, Shaman, or Evoker. Often, the main stat for these weapons is Strength, but other options can be found for Shamans and Evokers.

• Crashing Thunderhammer – The Rookery;

Polearms

Warrior, Death Knight, Paladin, Hunter, Monk, Druid, and Evoker can equip polearms. Most often, you will find polearms with Agility as the main stat, but sometimes, there are items with Strength.

Staffs

Staff can be used by a fairly large number of classes: Warrior, Hunter, Priest, Shaman, Mage, Warlock, Monk, Druid, and Evoker. Most staff have Intellect main stat, but you can also often find specimens with Agility.

One-Handed Swords

The one-handed sword is a fairly popular weapon type among classes due to the fact that items with each type of Main stat are common. They can be equipped by Warrior, Death Knight, Paladin, Hunter, Rogue, Mage, Warlock, Monk, Demon Hunter, and Evoker.

• Tearing Sawtooth Blade – Operation: Mechagon.

One-Handed Axes

Warrior, Death Knight, Paladin, Hunter, Rogue, Shaman, Monk, Demon Hunter, and Evoker can equip a one-handed axe. This weapon type can be found with all main stats, but Intellect is much rarer.

One-Handed Maces

Daggers

Daggers can be equipped by Warrior, Hunter, Rogue, Priest, Shaman, Mage, Warlock, Druid, and Evoker. Daggers are most often found with Agility and Intellect.

Fist Weapons

Warrior, Hunter, Rogue, Shaman, Monk, Druid, Demon Hunter, and Evoker can equip fist weapons. This type of weapon can only be used with Strength or Agility.

In Season 2 of The War Within, the dungeons have no fist weapons.

Warglaives

Warglaives are a unique weapon for Demon Hunters and always have an Agility main stat.

• Sonic Ka-BOOM!-erang – Operation: Floodgate.

Wands

Wands are the only one-handed ranged weapons, and they only work for the cloth classes: Priest, Mage, and Warlock. Wands always have Intellect main stat.

In Season 2 of The War Within, there are no wands in the dungeons.

Bows

Warriors, Hunters, and Rogues can use bows, but only hunters use them in actual combat. Bows always have an Agility main stat.

Crossbows

Crossbows are ranged weapons that can be equipped by Warriors, Hunters, and Rogues but are only used in combat by Hunters. Crossbows always have an Agility main stat.

In Season 2 of The War Within, there are no crossbows in the dungeons.

Guns

Warriors, Hunters, and Rogues can equip guns, but they only make sense to use in combat if you are a hunter. The gun can only be equipped with Agility main stat.

Shields

Shields are one of two types of weapons that can only be wielded in the off-hand. They can be wielded by Warriors, Paladins, and Shamans. Shields usually have two stats at once – Strength and Intellect.

Off-hands

Off-hand is one of two types of weapons that can only be wielded in the off-hand. Mage, Paladin, Priest, Warlock, Shaman, Monk, Evoker, and Druid can wield off-hand. Most often, this type of weapon has an Intellect main stat, but there are also Agility variants.
