Essentially – bonking bad things with a big hammer. If we’re talking generally, then Bash until we have enough Fury and then spam Hammer of the Ancients, which has a guaranteed Overpower. If we’re talking horde, then, similarly to real life, screaming is a good strategy – Rallying Cry, War Cry, Challenging Shout. Are we talking big bad elite or the boss? – Wrath of the Berserker. It’s resource-heavy but gets the job done.
What are the strengths and the weaknesses of the Hammer of the Ancients Barbarian?
Pros:
- Absolutely massive, health-bar melting, unfiltered damage;
- Great AoE and single-target DpS;
- Is enough to solo clear all content available in the game;
Cons:
- Uncustomizable. That combo from the question above is all you’ll be rocking for the entirety of the game, same goes for gear;
- Survivability is there, but not so much. Be prepared for occasional one-shots;
- No gear – no gain. Heavily relies on aspects and legendary gear to boost damage. Tibault’s Will is a must.
What Bash skill modifier should I choose?
Enhanced Bash provides Fortify Generation, which is good for survivability, while Combat Bash grants some really nice guaranteed Overpower after Upheaval. We do recommend Combat Bash, since stacking Overpower from a lot of sources is this build’s greatest strength.
