What’s the best winning strategy in Deadlock?
There’s no 100% fool-proof winning strategy available in the game, unfortunately, but we can provide you with some pointers to make your gameplay experience a little bit easier:
- Pick a lane and stick to it when attacking. The main reason for 80% of all losses we’ve seen during the alpha test is otherwise skilled teams playing Deadlock like it’s another Overwatch clone – chasing kills around the map, not coordinating, and focusing on short-term goals like scoring a kill or two or farming Souls rather than keeping to one lane to reach the enemy base. Deadlock is all about long-term planning and team coordination: huddle together with your squadmates on one lane, fending off enemies trying to take it back, and focus on nothing else;
- Know your Heroes and skill rotations. Deadlock has a huge variety when it comes to supporting, healing, or damage-dealing items and skills, and most of them were designed to be lined up together with each other: one causes AoE damage, for example, and the other freezes enemies in one place. Do the math;
- Don’t ignore passive and active items. They might seem like basic power-ups at first, but in fact, items almost solely decide whether your build is efficient or not. Take some time to go through the item directory and pick the ones that you think will benefit your playstyle.

What are the best defense characters in Deadlock?
Understandable question – Deadlock’s roster made us freeze in place the first time we’ve seen it as well. Here’s the basic tier list to get you started:
- S-Tier Characters:
- Warden: frontline bruiser known for his high tankiness and ability to control the battlefield. His kit includes powerful attacks and healing, allowing him to sustain through fights while dealing significant damage. His mobility and lockdown capabilities make him a formidable defender;
- A-Tier Characters:
- Abrams: Abrams is characterized by his health regeneration and damage mitigation, making him incredibly difficult to take down. His abilities, such as Siphon Life and Seismic Impact, provide both survivability and crowd control, allowing him to drain health from enemies while stunning them;
- Dynamo: while primarily a crowd control character, Dynamo offers strong defensive capabilities. His ability to control enemy movements and provide support makes him a valuable asset in defensive strategies;
- Infernus: Infernus combines damage over time with good survivability, making him a solid choice for defense. His ability to withstand attacks while dealing damage allows him to hold his ground effectively;
- Mo & Krill: This duo is known for their ability to absorb damage and provide healing support to allies, enhancing their overall defensive capabilities.
