What’s Vigor and how does it work?
Vigor is an interesting mechanic Tarisland’s devs developed to warn off bots, resource hoarders, and others who enjoy gaming in a bit unhealthy way. For example, to upgrade your Tarisland Alchemy Level, you’ll have to, duh, brew potions and collect herbs, right? And if you’re thinking “oh, well, I’ll just take like a week off from my actual life, family, work, and friends, just so I could farm until my level is high enough and my social life is in shambles” then we have bad (though it’s actually good) news for you. You won’t be able to grind constantly, due to every crafting and gathering action requiring a specific amount of Vigor points. Want to craft some nice boots – minus Vigor. Found that nice flower and want to add it to your collection – there goes your Vigor again. It could seem like a predatory mechanic to make you buy potions and other items to fill your Vigor meter, but it could also be a great reason to take a break, drink some coffee, and enjoy some fresh air, at least until some Vigor is restored naturally (takes 15 minutes).
