Heirloom gear in Cataclysm Classic is a neat means to give your alts a head start and ease your way into high-level World of Warcraft content. With a whopping number of 85 levels total and very few ways to boost your leveling speed, WoW Cataclysm is the expansion where reaching that level cap becomes especially cumbersome. Leveling your character from start to finish in Cataclysm Classic may take between 200 to 250 hours of play — a monstrous number any one of us would want to reduce as much as possible. Heirlooms, given their account-wide nature, experience buffs, and infinite durability, are the best way to do exactly that.
Naturally, the part where you actually gain these heirlooms is a tricky one in and of itself, and if you wish to make it a tad easier, buy WoW Cataclysm Heirloom Gear Boost and enjoy the greatest advantage life could offer — time!
This boost will be completed in Piloted mode.

In Cataclysm, the new expansion for WoW Classic, there are three main sources of Heirloom gear items for your character: purchasing them with gold, Justice points, and Honor points.
Here’s the list of both Alliance and Horde Heirloom vendors (you can find all of them either in Stormwind or Orgrimmar, respectively):
There’s also One Ring to rule them all… Beg your pardon, there’s only one Heirloom ring in WoW Classic Cataclysm — Dread Pirate Ring. You can obtain it for your account via the quest Kalu’ak Fishing Derby, which is quite complicated, to put it lightly. If you manage to do this quest twice and get two Dread Pirate Rings, they won’t work together, so save your breath.
You may also notice various Leg armor and several other Rings in your Heirloom collection, but those were unobtainable in retail Cataclysm. That’s probably a bug or oversight.
While always displaying ‘Item level 1,’ Heirlooms in WoW Cataclysm grow in power along with your character from level 1 through 80 or 85 (depending on the item). At level 80, your Heirloom gear power could be compared to that of non-Heirloom items with ilvl 187.
Now, here’s an important thing to remember: all Heirlooms purchased with either Justice or Honor points (these are Chest, Shoulders, Weapons, and Trinkets) will cap at level 80. After that, in Cataclysm Classic, you must replace them with non-Heirloom items.
Heirlooms purchased with gold (those are Cloaks and Helms, obtainable after several grind sessions for your guild reputation) cap at level 85.
Your Heirloom armor type will swap when you hit level 40. If you’re a Hunter or Shaman, you’ll see your Leather armor swap to Mail, and if you’re a Warrior or Paladin, that would be a Mail to Plate swap.
There’s a common pitfall in this system. Imagine you’re a Hunter expecting your Heirloom Leather armor to swap to Mail armor at level 40. If the item icon in your Heirloom collection or the vendor list indicates that an item is Leather, it will not automatically convert to Mail later. It will only swap if it is initially a Mail item, meaning it will first downgrade to Leather if you’re level 39 or lower, and only after that, at character level 40, will it return to its original Mail form. An item that is innately Leather will not upgrade to Mail.
The Heirloom gear experience bonus lasts until an item’s level cap is reached (meaning that once you hit that exact level, the XP buff is gone). Here’s how it works:
Weapons and trinkets do not provide an XP buff, meaning you can expect a maximum of 40% increased experience gains at levels 1 through 79 and up to 15% at levels 80 through 85.
No, Heirlooms are not class-based. The only restriction is the armor or weapon type. If your class can’t use armor or weapons of a certain type, those specific Heirlooms are not for your character. But you can always save them for your alts since Heirlooms are bound to your Battle.net account and can be used on any character once obtained.
